The government has announced new corona measures that take effect on Sunday 28 November, and death at least 3 weeks. Read more .

Rules for events

Rules until 28 November :

  • As of 13 November, keeping 1.5 metres’ distance is mandatory again.
  • From 13 November until 4 December, events cannot take place between 18:00 and 06:00 hours.
  • Many venues require a corona entry pass (in the CoronaCheck app, or on paper).
  • Fixed seating is mandatory, except for events with a flow of people (‘doorstroomevenementen’).
  • A maximum of 1,250 persons applies to seated events. This maximum does not apply to events with a flow of people.
  • If the corona check app does not apply, the face mask does. And vice versa.

Rules from 28 November :

  • An evening lockdown will be instated for all hospitality venues and events from 17:00 until 05:00 hours. Takeaway and delivery of food and drink remains possible past 17:00 hours.
  • Keeping 1.5 metres’ distance in indoor public spaces is mandatory. Visitors may not exceed 1 person per 5 m2.
  • Face masks are also mandatory in all indoor places while unseated. This applies in addition to the corona entry pass.
  • Many venues require a corona entry pass (in the CoronaCheck app, or on paper). This no longer excludes the mandatory face masks and 1.5 metres’ distance.
  • Fixed seating is mandatory, except for events with a flow of people (‘doorstroomevenementen’).
  • A maximum of 1,250 persons applies to seated events. This maximum does not apply to events with a flow of people.

Financial support for cancelled events and hospitality businesses

  • Do you have to cancel an event you organised, due to corona restrictions? You may be eligible for a 100% refund of the costs incurred with the Subsidy scheme for events cancelled due to corona measures (TRSEC). This includes events cancelled during the period after 13 November and during the evening lockdown after 28 November.
  • All businesses, including hospitality, nightclubs, and discotheques, that have to close their doors earlier, will be able to claim compensation for fixed costs under the reinstated TVL over the 4th quarter of 2021. The TVL replaces the VLN scheme.
  • The government is currently working out compensation measures for the cultural sector and for sports organisations, both amateur and professional.

Rules for night hospitality, nightclubs, and discotheques

All cordial reception venues, including nightclubs and discotheques, must close between 17:00 and 05:00 hours. Visitors must show a corona entrance pass and valid ID, and fix seat is compulsory. The maximum phone number of visitors allowed is 1 person per 5 m2.

Corona entry pass, yes or no?

Visitors need to show a corona submission die and ( ages 13 and up ) valid ID in the following locations :

  • indoor and outdoor hospitality facilities;
  • festivals, concerts, conferences and events;
  • cinemas and theatres;
  • casinos;
  • museums, monuments, and libraries;
  • swimming pools, wellness centres, and spas;
  • gyms;
  • fun fairs and carnivals.

Visitors do not need a corona entry pass in the pursue locations :

  • shops;
  • town halls;
  • hospitals and care homes;
  • libraries;
  • zoos and amusement parks: the government is working on legislation to make the corona entry pass mandatory in these locations as well, but for now it is not required.
